A New Baby

Eden and her cousin, McKell, were playing "having babies".

She came upstairs saying,

"Mom!  I had a baby!  I just pushed it out!"

Baby Johnny

Eden and Leila's cousin baby Johnny's been in the hospital, very sick. We were able to see him on video chat.

Today Eden wanted to play doctor:

"I'll be the doctor and you be baby Johnny."
(Eden sticks anything "tube like" anywhere she can)
I'm putting tubes in your arms."
(Eden sticks the "shot" in my mouth)
"This is your feeding tube."
(Pushes the shot)
"There's your apples."
(Pushes the shot again)
"There's your squash."
(Pushes the shot again)
"There's your pears"
(Gets the play scissors and tweezers)
"Now we need to do heart surgery."
(Pretends to cut open my chest and fix my heart.)
"There, now you're all better!"

I think Baby Johnny needs Eden as a doctor. She did a really good job. Hang in there baby Johnny. We love you!

Touchy-Feely Children

While going out to eat with my sister and her kids, Eden stood close to Trey and kept trying to sneak her hand over to hold his hand. Trey wouldn't have a part in that and took his hand away.

Then later, while Ramona and Leila were in the double stroller, Leila would reach over to Ramona and try to hold her hand. Ramona didn't respond (but then again, she's only 3 1/2 months old).

A Name for Baby Power

Tyson's sister and brother in law, Kylie and Zach Power, came to visit a few days ago. Kylie's pregnant with a baby boy *WAHOO!*

After talking about possible baby names we decided to ask Eden. Her answer:

"You should name the baby ACTION POWER!"

Then Kylie mentioned they liked the name Samuel. Eden's response:

"That's silly! Name your baby Samuel the Lamanite Power?!"

Encouragement

Eden, Leila, and I went to a little indoor playground with my sister, Laura, Trey, baby Ramona, and my mom. We let Trey and Eden go play, while we all ate some lunch.

We watch as Trey helps pull Eden up to higher places than she can't go by herself.

Then Trey comes running.

Trey: "Beefy! Beefy! Come here!"

He grabs me by the finger and leads me to Eden who is in the middle of a climbing area causing a traffic jam.

Me: "Eden, what's going on? Do you need some help?"
Eden: "Mom, Trey needs some encouragement."

A little confused, I try to figure out what's going on.

Me: "You need to keep climbing so other people can go up too."
Eden: "No, I want to get down."
Me: "Ok, let's get you down."

I start to help her down...when Trey grabs me.

Trey: "No! Eden go up!"
Eden: "Trey wants me to go up."
Me: "Do you want to go up?"
Eden: "No, I want to get down!"

I help her down.

Apparently Eden saying Trey needed "encouragement" meant that he needed to be encouraged to let her climb down instead of up.

All I have to ask is....What two year old uses the word "encouragement"? I guess Eden does...

Miriana

Eden has a cousin named Miriana. She's often called Miri for short.

All the cousins went to Jungle Jim's together and Miri's favorite rides were the swings (that you sit in and it goes around and around) and the merry-go-round.

Since then, Eden will sometimes pretend to be on a merry-go-round....except, she calls is a
"Miri-go-around"

Eden and Trey

Eden gets along with her cousin, Trey (with exceptions of course...I mean, they are both 2 year olds after all). During our trip to Oregon they got to spend a decent amount of time with each other.

Trey and Eden stories:

On our trip to Oregon we made a stop halfway through at a motel. The next morning while packing up we all let the kids play. Later we saw the kids...without Trey and Eden. We though, "Where's Eden?" A little bit later my brother in law shows up with Eden and Trey and said, "I saw these two walking out front of the motel together, holding hands." Then Eden said, "Trey was holding my hand to help me down the stairs. Trey is so nice."

Every morning in Oregon when Trey woke up, he came over to our apartment and knocked on the door. And every morning he would say, "Eden?" and we'd say, "She's still sleeping." Followed by a little disappointed face saying, "Oh..."

While having a family dinner outside we looked out to see Trey sitting on the grass. Eden was laying on across his lap with her feet in the air. And Trey was helping her take off her shoes for her. (She's such a princess that likes to be helped with everything).

Eden's Example

Eden's a girly girl.

She states her feelings openly ALWAYS. She will say "I'm sad", "Crying", "Mad", "Scared", "Afraid", "Happy"....anything.

Her cousin, Trey, on the other hand...definitely a boy...not nearly as "emotional" as Eden. She's not afraid of anything but he's rather a teenager in a 2 year old body....seriously.

But in the car, after hanging out with Eden for a while, he started saying "Sad" and "Afraid"....which he wasn't but learned those from Eden.

Eden and Eva

Eva and Eden love each other. Eva is social and likes a little friend. Eden...I think she likes not being the smallest.

Today they were playing with a ball. Eva was carrying the ball and Eden went up to her and stole the ball. Then said, "Thank you!"

She kept doing this over and over.
