Counting and Numbers

Leila now counts to ten (often missing the number 7) and knows the colors blue (her favorite), purple, red, white, black, brown, green, yellow, and pink.

Walking

Leila now walks more than she crawls.

The only time she crawls is when she really wants to get someplace or to something fast. She knows that crawling is faster than walking.

She often only takes a few steps and falls, then get up again and falls. But she's made it across the living room a few times all by herself.

Two Steps

Leila took two steps all by herself yesterday! She'll be walking before we know it!

Stairs

Leila crawled up the stairs (from the very bottom to the top) all by herself. Trouble....

1st Tooth

Leila's first tooth popped through a few days ago!

Getting Bigger

Leila can now climb up on small steps (although not up the stairs yet), walk around holding on to furniture, and loves to play a game of stand and then let go with her hands so see how long she can stand without falling. She's lasted probably 5 seconds at the most, which is pretty good.

Standing and a Love for Food

Leila can now get herself from sitting to standing (if she's holding on to something short enough).

And she also has a love for food. Wait, that doesn't describe it. She has an EXTREME LOVE for food. When we sit her down for food at breakfast and dinner, she EAT and EATS. I decided once that maybe we shouldn't give her as much and supplement with breast milk at the end. She wouldn't have it. She only wanted FOOD.

She's found a new love for foods that she can feed herself as well. She loves green beans, baby snacks, bread, ANYTHING.

Crawling and Talking

Leila officially crawls! She also TALKS a lot more than she did previously (well, somewhat babble). She's learned the word "Dada" and hasn't stopped saying it since. She loves her dad. Its true. She occasionally says "Mama" and a little bit of babble and a decent amount of screaming. But dad is officially her new favorite.

Crawling....Kinda...

Leila's taken a few crawling steps. She's gotta be REALLY wanting something and people not paying attention to her (cause if she sees you are paying attention she'll give up trying in hopes that we'll give in to give her what she wants first).

She's quite the demolisher. I got her to crawl better than she's ever crawled today by playing LEGOs with Eden. When I build something Leila headed over FAST to, of course, demolish it. As soon as she had ripped it apart, she went back to playing with other things....occasionally checking if we re-built anything for her to destroy.

But Leila's other big thing is her love of CLIMBING. She'll climb on most anything she can climb up on. She loves to open her dresser drawers and and try and climb them. She also LOVES our big LEGO container. She knows what's inside. She'll grab it, tip it over, spread the LEGOs around, throw the box and the lid and then play, play, play!

Leila's 6 Month Check-Up....at 7 Months of Age

At the doctor's on Monday....Leila was a bit over 19 lbs.

We had to get another check up today.....where she hit the 20 lb mark.

(Going from memory) Leila's about 75% height, 70% head circumference, and 95% weight.

Hands and Knees

Leila has recently started getting on her hands and knees in a crawling position. She still can't crawl, but she tries and ends up scooting backwards (making her frustrated). But she's getting close!

.5 Year Old

To celebrate Leila's .5 birthday we decided to introduce her to solid food.

And she LOVES squash. Never seen a bowl of squash gone so quickly.

Doctor's Appointment

Eden and Leila both had a doctor's appointment Wednesday.

Their Stats:

Eden

Height: 34 inches

Weight: 26 3/4 lbs

Head: 20 inches

Leila

Height: 25 inches

Weight: 17 lbs

Head: 16 1/2 inches

Overall....Eden is about the 25th percentile overall. Leila is about 95th percentile overall (except her head is more like 70% I think).

"Mom"

Leila says "Mom". But I don't know if it really counts cause she may just know how to form those sounds and not really calling for me.

But I like to pretend that she's calling for me. :)

Sitting Up

Leila's been doing really well lately at sitting up with little support. She'll of course fall forward and backwards after awhile, but overall, she's doing pretty good!

Rolling Over

Today Leila rolled over (for ME this time) from her front to back AND her back to front! She's definitely starting to realize the possibilities that come from rolling. Cause I think she's really trying to do it more to reach anything and everything!

Rolling Over

Leila rolled over from her front to back yesterday....TWICE.

At least that's what I hear. Tyson was the only one to witness it....

Leila

For the past week or so, Leila has been really reaching for her toys and sticking them in her mouth. She also talks a lot and blow a lot of bubbles out of her mouth.

She went to the doctor the other day and she is 90 percentile in height and 97 percentile in weight. She's a chunk weighing in at 15 lbs.

Laughter

Within the past two days, Leila has laughed out loud at Tyson and me. But not when Tyson tries to tickle her...she gets really upset when you do that. But if you talk to her and she's happy then sometimes she does a breathy laugh that is adorable!

Leila

Leila slept 6 hours during the night. She's also had a few nights where she's slept 4-5 hours.
