While at Costco, Paige was eating some hot dog bun.
She took it out of her mouth to share with Eden next to her.
Eden said, "No Thank you Paige. You keep it."
Then Eden gave a big YAWN.
And Paige shoved the piece of bread into Eden's mouth.
How kind.

Two-Minute Thinking
Eden has this great plan today to spend less and save more. She went a step further to say she planned on doing extra chore tomorrow to earn more money to save.
"I'm going to wake up tomorrow and do all my chores and school early so I can do some extra chores to earn money!"
Later on...
"So mom, I have this thing called two-minute thinking where I think of an idea that I think is really exciting for...like...two minutes. Then I don't think it's exciting anymore. I don't think my chore idea is very exciting anymore..."
Figured that wouldn't last long.

Jammie Picture
Molly woke up in the middle of the night saying,
"Mom!! Will you take a picture of me with my jammies on?"
I convinced her that it was the middle of the night and that I could take one once the sun came up and there was light.
She woke up this morning and wants her jammie picture.

How to Get Around Clean Up
Leila really wanted to play dress up with her dolls. But to find the items she wants she would have to dump out the box of things...which also means cleaning up the box of doll things when she is finished. Leila's way around it:
"Dad, could you dump out this box of doll stuff so you can clean it up after?"
Not very discrete.

Sunday Fit Bit
Eden looks at dad's fit bit to see how many steps he's taken today...
Eden: "Dad, that's way too many steps for a Sunday."
Dad: "What are we? Jewish?"
Apparently, we need to all wear fit bits on Sunday to make sure we keep the Sabbath Day holy and don't take too many steps...

Zootopia
After our "family fun night" to the movie theater to watch Zootopia...the girls were scared to death. Leila's prayer tonight...
"...and please bless that we won't have nightmares from Zootopia tonight."

Molly's Bad Dreams
Molly on occasion has a bad dream. I thought I'd write them down.
One night Molly woke up scrambling to the front of her bed yelling "There's a frog in my bed!" I had to take her out, relax her, and assure her there was no frog in her bed but she had a bad dream. When returning to bed she double checked just in case and said, "oh he's gone."
Another night she was yelling when she woke up and when I went to get her she said, "Dad had a whole cupcake and wouldn't share with me!!"
She had another bad dream about dad one night. She was yelling "Dad!" So dad went in to see her. He said "What's wrong?" She eventually said, "I want mom!" He came and got me and I came in and she told me "I wanted to play a game and dad wouldn't play with me

Molly's Toothbrush
I often tell molly to not take her toothbrush out of the bathroom. Tonight she took it out of the bathroom and set it next to her at the kitchen table while she played.
I came in and she knew I would take her toothbrush and put it away so she said to me,
"Mommy, don't touch my toothbrush. It's fragile."

Happy Snowman
One of Molly's big things is "happy snowman". She wants me to draw pictures of "happy snowman" all the time, she loves going to Costco and seeing the blow up "happy snowman" preparing for Christmas....
But she also creates her own "happy snowman". I wish I'd have taken pictures of all the things she's done to make the "happy snowman" appear. Stacking three cans on top of each other, stacking multiple LEGOS (the top one of course has an eyeball on it because we have a few LEGOS with eyes on them), and she's learned to draw circles and when they stack up nicely she calls it her "happy snowman". Most anything you can stack up in parts becomes a "happy snowman".
She LOVES her "happy snowman".

Deeply Offended
Leila had bad dreams last night that I had left her behind. So, I promised to sleep with her all night and I slept in her bed.
Later that night...
Eden woke up throwing up.
Molly woke up and didn't go back to sleep for hours.
When daylight came Leila begged me to wake up with her when I desperately wanted sleep.

Mom: "Leila, can you let me sleep in a bit longer?"
Leila: "No. Please wake up and be with me!"
Mom: "Eden woke up throwing up and I had to take care of her and clean up and Molly woke up and didn't go back to sleep for two hours. I'm really tired."
(Leila's head turns...obviously deeply offended.)
Leila: "You mean you broke your promise and didn't sleep with me all night?!?!"

Molly Loves Sweets
Molly's been talking a lot lately. She copies and parrots many things we say but I don't expect her to really understand what she is saying or remember it. But things of great importance...she remembers.
After Leila's birthday.
(Molly goes to the fridge)
Molly: "More milk"
Mom: "You want more milk?"
Molly: "More milk."
Mom: "OK."
(Opens the fridge...and she sees Leila's left over cake)
(Molly points to the cake)
Molly: "Chocolate mousse."
After that vocabulary performance, I couldn't deny her some chocolate mousse cake.
She also makes sure to remember words like "treat" and "cookie".

"Thank You Siri"
I just got a new iPhone with Siri on it. I'm not a die hard Siri person like some, but I do use it occasionally.
While asking Siri something Eden tells me...
So, I try to use my kind words...even to Siri...

"Mom, Siri is SO nice. She always answers your questions and you never even say 'please' or 'thank you'. You should be more polite to Siri."

Leila Makes Me Laugh
Two experiences with Leila these past few days....
The other day I looked over at Leila and she was "reading" a book to Molly. I thought, "Oh, that's so cute!" It was a farm animal book that we got from the library. Then I started to listen to the book.
Oh the stinker...
A few days later Leila was asked to say the prayer. Part of her prayer...
Perhaps she's repenting?

Conversations with Molly
For as little as Molly talks...she sure can communicate.
(Mom's in the bathroom)
(Molly knocks on the door)
Mom: "Yes?"
Molly: "DA NA NA DA MA MA DA!"
(Molly knocks again)
Mom: "I'm going to the bathroom."
Molly: "DA DA NA NA NA DA MA!"
(Molly knocks again)
Mom: "Molly, you need to wait until I'm done."
(Molly cries.)
But she's especially good at tattle telling...
Molly: "Uh oh" (points)
(Mom looks over and sees Leila)
Mom: "Leila, go clean up please."
(Leila runs back crying)
Molly: "Uh oh. WAAH! No."

Jack Johnson
We're riding in the car, listening to Jack Johnson.
Leila: "That Jack Johnson is a good rock star!"
We Love Our Maintenance Man
One day Eden wanted to ride her bike, but her tire was flat. The maintenance men in the town homes gladly fill her tires for her. Eden asked me...
I guess he's not just a maintenance man, but a HIGH maintenance man.
"Mom. Can we take my bike to get fixed at the high maintenance man?"
I guess he's not just a maintenance man, but a HIGH maintenance man.

Eden's Song
Eden got on top of the kid's table...I mean, "stage" and sang a song.
Oh...what a performance. Encore! Encore!
"It is not easy. It is very complicated. And now my cabbage is soggy."
Oh...what a performance. Encore! Encore!

Halloween
A hot topic around here is what the kids want to be for Halloween. Eden has been trying to think of something that comes in three (like the three blind mice or three men in a tub) so she can dress with her, Leila, and Molly.
Dad: "You guys could just be three of the seven dwarfs. You could be grumpy, sneezy, and sleepy!"
Eden: "Yeah, and SNOOPY!"
Yeah, that dwarf never made it in the movie...he got into a LOT of trouble.
If Only You Could See Her Facial Expression...
I always think "I'd write more funny things that Leila says and does on the blog, but it is just never as funny written down as it is in person...cause I love Leila's facial expressions and body language. I mean, I LOVE them.
The other day she was singing the primary song, "Every Star is Different" and feeling very proud of herself.
She was spinning in circles while singing.
Mid-song...*pause*...
You could tell by the way she looked that she was saying, "I'm goooood."
